Alumna receives 40 Under 40 Award

Maretta Morovitz, E17, is awarded for her significant contribution to STEM by the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA).

Maretta Morovitz, E17, was named by the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) as the recipient of a 2021 40 Under 40 Award. The AFCEA award is given to 40 individuals aged 40 or under for their significant contribution in a STEM field by “providing innovation, thought leadership, and support to their client or organizations using information technology.” Morovitz received recognition for her work with The MITRE Corporation.

The AFCEA is a non-profit association that was established in 1946. It provides a forum for members of the military, government, industry, and academia to collaborate and advance information technology, communications, and electronic capabilities to meet the needs of the global defense and security community.

Morovitz graduated from Tufts in 2017 with a bachelor’s of science in computer science. While at Tufts, Morovitz participated in the Atlantic Council’s Cyber 9/12 Student Challenge in 2017, where her team received an award for best oral brief in round one of the competition.
